Bundek – A Family-Friendly Lake
Bundek Lake went a long way from the original gravel pit and wild swimming or car washing spot to today’s spacious and nicely tended park in New Zagreb, by the south bank of the river Sava. The Big Lake becomes a beach in summer, and the Small Lake is reserved for animals only, mostly wild birds. Unlike Jarun Lake, which is more sports-oriented, Bundek is a little piece of family heaven. Large children's playgrounds, lots of space for picnic and barbecue, and a cycling and roller skating trail is all you need for a great day outdoors. Culture is represented, too. Theatre plays and concerts for all ages regularly take place on the pontoon stage in summer. Sports activities and recreation are also welcome, but the main rule at Bundek is – just take it easy.
